Two New Streets Added to Street Resurfacing ProjectOctober 09, 2015
The city’s summer resurfacing projects came in about $300,000 under budget. That means that two new streets that were originally a part of the plans have been added back to the project list.
Cook Avenue, between Clifton and Lake avenues, will close Monday, Oct. 12, and will remain closed for approximately three weeks during the resurfacing project. City officials have alerted Lakewood Catholic Academy about the construction.
Nicholson, from Lake Avenue to Cliff Drive, will also be closed during the same time period.
“This is a good example of government being good stewards of the taxpayer money,” said Mayor Michael Summers. “We hope to get this last project done as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
Both projects are expected to take three weeks, weather permitting. Contractors will post “no parking” signs at least 24 hours prior to the start of the work.
