Welcome to the website of
the City of Lakewood Fire-EMS. We hope the information you find here will
be informative about our organization. We take pride in delivering professional
service to our community in both fire suppression and emergency medical
care.
In 1999, the Division of Fire expanded operations to include emergency medical
response. This expanded service increased the number of EMS units available
to the citizens of Lakewood. The service currently staffs 3 ALS ambulances
one from each fire station and a BLS Engine responding from station 1. A
fourth ambulance is fully equipped as backup. The expansion doubled the
number of EMS units available.
The EMS staff includes 13 Paramedics that were hired from Lakewood hospital,
19 Firefighter Paramedics and 11 Emergency Medical Technicians. All Paramedics
are ACLS and PALS certified.
EMS units responded to 5,112 calls in 2006. |
