The city of Lakewood is helping to make residents’ tax preparation fast, easy and free. The city is offering a number of options for filing 2015 Lakewood Municipal Income Tax Returns.
Visit www.onelakewood.com to prepare your return using the city’s online e-Preparation service, or to download the brand new interactive individual tax form, which will calculates municipal taxes automatically.
You can also drop by the tax department office for in-person help from one of the city’s trained auditors — no appointment necessary. The best part? All of the above-listed preparation options are free of charge.
Are you a taxpayer with a strict eight-to-five schedule? The tax department will host extended business hours during tax season. Starting March 22, and running through April 14, the office will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays — and on April 15 and 18, respectively. Residents will also be able to file their taxes on Saturday, April 9 and Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to noon. Once tax season is over, the tax department reverts back to normal hours of operation. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity while it’s available.
The Lakewood Municipal Income Tax Division is located at 12805 Detroit Avenue, in the City Hall Annex Building on the corner of Detroit and Alameda Avenue, where knowledgeable tax experts are happy to address Lakewood tax-related questions and concerns in-person during our normal hours of operation—8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday—and during the extended hours listed above.
