Meet Lakewood’s New Law Director, Brian Corrigan

January 06, 2020

Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing Mayor George’s team of directors that will be leading the City’s dedicated departments! We will start by introducing Lakewood’s new Law Director, Brian Corrigan.

Brian is a proud, long-time Lakewood resident. He brings 30 years of legal experience to the City, including 8 years as a City Council representative, and 4 years as Law Director during Mayor Tom George’s administration. As Law Director, Brian, in collaboration with the Law Department’s 3 staff attorneys and support staff, handles civil claims, prepares legislation, and advises both the Mayor and City Council on legal matters, as well as prosecuting criminal actions in Lakewood Municipal Court.

When asked about his goals for the community, he said: “To provide a safe environment for all residents, homeowners, and small businesses.” He also commented on the importance of Lakewood’s walkability, “I have always loved the walkable nature of Lakewood. It is a key component in Lakewood’s hometown feel,” said Corrigan.

Fun Fact: Brian loves cycling. While attending University of Cincinnati, he would ride his bike back home to Lakewood at the end of the school year. Most recently, he rode from Lakewood to visit his daughter, Juliet, at Gannon University in Erie, PA.
