McKinley Avenue Bridge, Intersection Project Set to Begin on July 22July 19, 2016
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will begin various bridge repairs on the McKinley Bridge over Interstate 90, starting July 22. The bridge will be closed for the duration of ODOT’s work.
In conjunction with the ODOT project, the city of Lakewood will begin removing and replacing the pavement at McKinley Avenue, at both North and South Marginal road intersections.
During the next few weeks, McKinley Avenue will be closed to thru traffic — local traffic will be permitted — from Riverside Drive and Hilliard Road to the bridge. However, the McKinley bridge will be closed to all traffic.
At least one lane of traffic will be maintained on South Marginal going east and on North Marginal going west. There will be no access to or from McKinley off of or onto Marginal roads.
Weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the work is expected to be completed by Aug. 15.
“On behalf of The City of Lakewood, we thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during the work,” said Mark Papke, the city’s engineer. “The completion of this project will not only be of benefit to you, but will make our entire city a better place in which to live, work and play.”
