Second-Annual Lakewood Summer Solstice Celebration Slated for June 21June 13, 2017
During the past year, there have been sporadic reports of residents spontaneously applauding as the sun sets over Lake Erie at the city’s new Solstice Steps at Lakewood Park. It’s that beautiful.
Residents will now have another reason to cheer, as the city is hosting the second-annual Lakewood Summer Solstice Celebration from 6 to 10:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 21.
Sponsored by the city of Lakewood, the free event will feature live entertainment, food trucks and children’s activities.
“By now, most residents have had the opportunity to experience the Solstice Steps,” said Mayor Michael Summers. “This event gives our residents an opportunity to celebrate not only this connection to our city’s greatest natural resource but also to take pride in our community on the longest day of the year.”
Residents are encouraged to bring along a picnic blanket for an evening picnic, or enjoy dinner from one of the local food trucks offering lakefront fare.
