Lakewood Community Diversity Potluck Dinner Slated for Jan. 21

January 13, 2016

Bon appetite. The Lakewood Community Relations Advisory Commission is hosting the ninth-annual Diversity Potluck from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 21.

The popular community event is slated to take place at the Woman’s Club Pavilion at Lakewood Park, 14532 Lake Avenue. The theme for this year’s potluck is appropriately titled Bon Appetite: Celebrating Diversity in Lakewood.

All are welcome. Those attending are asked to bring a dish — vegetarian or meat — for about six people which representing their family, cultural or ethnic background. Beverages and tableware will be provided.

“This is a great opportunity to sit down with people you don’t know, and haven’t a had chance to meet, and get to know a little bit more about them,” said Melissa Garrett, community relations specialist at the city of Lakewood.

This year, the Community Relations Advisory Commission will collect new socks for the Community West Foundation’s SocksPlus Campaign, donated to those in need.
