H20 Summer Service Camp Applications Are Now Available

April 01, 2016

The Lakewood Department of Human Services-Division of Youth H2O “Help to Others” Summer Service Camp is accepting applications for Summer Service Camp.  This year, H2O is offering a pilot expansion to the traditional Summer Service Camp sessions. There will be a one-week mini-session that is open only to sixth-grade students (fall 2016 grade) from June 6th-10th.

Applications are available online by clicking here.  Printed applications are available at the Lakewood Division of Youth, the Lakewood Public Library and the Lakewood Recreation Department.  Applications and payments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

During the two-week camp session, Lakewood residents entering grades 7-9 spend the morning performing activities at various service sites and the afternoon is spent on game time and team building activities.  Trained youth staff act as service mentors for the younger participants.  These skilled counselors supervise, instruct, motivate and empower their teams of five to six campers through a rich variety of hands on activities and learning experiences.

H2O is a program of the Lakewood Department of Human Services Division of Youth in partnership with Lakewood City Schools.  H2O connects Lakewood youth with volunteer opportunities to develop a strong desire to SERVE the community. Nurtured by a culture of kindness, they LEARN valuable skills while helping others. They GROW into more engaged citizens empowered to make an impact in the world.
