Ex-Husband Indicted in Murder of Missing Lakewood Woman

On Thursday May 18, 2017 the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury issued a 15 count indictment on this case charging Roaa Al-Dhannoon’s ex-husband, Fahad A. Saeed, 26 years old with:

  • 2 Counts Aggravated Murder
  • Murder
  • 2 Counts Kidnapping
  • Felonious Assault
  • Aggravated Burglary
  • Burglary
  • Violation of a Protection Order
  • Gross Abuse of a Corpse
  • 2 Counts Theft
  • Telecommunications Fraud
  • Tampering with Evidence
  • Possessing Criminal Tools

Mr. Saeed is currently being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail where is he is serving a sentence for violation of a Temporary Protection Order which had been obtained by Roaa Al-Dhannoon in 2015.

The Lakewood Police Department would like the thank the Federal Bureau of Investigation Violent Crime Squad, Evidence Recovery Team, Analysts & Interpretive Services, Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office’s, Metroparks Rangers, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Ohio Search and Recovery Canines for their assistance with this case.

According to Chief Tim Malley, “The Lakewood Police Department and partner agencies worked through many tips and leads to pursue this indictment while continuing to try to find Roaa Al-Dhannoon. The Lakewood Police Department will continue to work to assist the Cuyahoga County Prosecutors office to secure a conviction and incarceration of Fahad Saeed. The success of this investigation should assure the citizens of Lakewood that the Lakewood Police Department will bring any resources necessary to investigate reported crimes.”

“This has been a sensitive matter in our community,” said Lakewood Mayor Michael Summers. “I am grateful to our law enforcement officers for their determination in finding Roaa and securing an indictment.”

The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
