Edgewater Avenue Resurfacing Project to Begin Sept. 21September 15, 2015
The final project of the city’s summer resurfacing effort is slated to begin on Monday, Sept. 21 — weather permitting — on Edgewater Drive.
The majority of the work will take place on Edgewater, between W. 117th Street and Cove Avenue.
The Shelly Company, the contractor doing the work, will post a message board near Edgewater and W. 117th Street, noting that project begins Sept. 21 and that there’s no parking in the area from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Additionally, “No Parking” signs with a tow truck symbol will be posted on nearby orange barrels and wood posts on both sides of the street in the construction zone.
“If all goes well and the weather cooperates, this project should take less than two weeks to complete,” said Robert Erickson, in the city’s division of engineering and construction. “This area is heavy residential so we’re looking to make this process as easy as possible for the residents who live in the neighborhood.”
