Statement
The role of the Office of Community Relations is to ensure
the widespread recognition and use of the City of Lakewood's resources,
programs and capabilities, enhance the City's image by communicating its
assets and development both externally and internally, increase awareness
of the City's programs, resources and facilities, and encourage respect
for diversity.
The mission of the Office of Community Relations is to:
Promote a positive, vibrant image of
the City of Lakewood to existing or prospective residents, the business
community and media to ensure maximum recognition of the unique benefits,
resources and strengths of the Lakewood community.
Generate a civic pride and confidence
in Lakewood's future by communicating its assets and development both
externally and internally and enhance Lakewood's image.
In achieving its mission, the Office of Community
Relations (OCR) will keep residents of the City of Lakewood engaged in
ventures that promote a positive community image, maintain and improve
avenues of communication designed to inform and educate the public, support
community groups, plan events and manage the news media.
