Mission Statement
The Improvement Target Area Grant Program provides rebates for qualified exterior and interior improvements on designated target streets in Lakewood. This program offers rebates up to 30% (maximum $3,000) to owner occupied properties and up to 15% (maximum $3,000) to non-owner occupied rental properties. Property owners may participate regardless of income and are responsible for obtaining their own financing. Participation is limited to one time per property.

An exterior Building Department inspection is required. Applicants must satisfy all identified code violations before receipt of grant assistance. Property owners who have submitted receipts for interior repairs must request an interior inspection to be conducted by a Project Specialist. The results of interior inspections are confidential and are not shared with other City Departments.

Due to applicable Historic Preservation Guidelines we are not able to reimburse for the cost of vinyl or aluminum siding, glass block windows, certain types of replacement windows, and new construction.
