Wraparound Services

Wraparound is a planning process that follows a series of steps to help children and their families realize their hopes and dreams. It is a planning process that brings people together from different parts of the whole family’s life, to form a team with the family. With the help from a facilitator, the team will create a plan that will include ways to assure that children/youth and their families can experience success in their communities, homes and schools.

What Parents need to know:

  • You will be asked to help develop a team and make decisions with that team.
  • You will be asked to identify your family’s strengths and needs
  • You and your team will consider a variety of actions to meet needs
  • Your wrap around plan will change regularly
  • You and your team will get an opportunity to evaluate whether you plan is getting to the results or outcomes you want.

What Parents can expect:

  • Throughout the process, you will establish your family’s goals, you will be respected and your voice will be heard
  • A facilitator will contact you and get to know you and your family.
  • Regularly scheduled team meetings
  • You will receive copies of all plans and reports including your wrap around plan and your strengths inventory.
  • You will need to give permission so the facilitator can talk with others in preparation for the first team meeting.
