Applications are available in the Office of Human Resources at Lakewood City Hall, 2nd Floor, 12650 Detroit Avenue or as a PDF Fillable Form. Applications are accepted for vacant positions only, and must be submitted no later than the specified deadline date. Applications are required before applicants can be interviewed and will be kept on file for one year.

Candidates with the most suitable background will be contacted for an interview and any pre-employment evaluation. Applicants are generally notified within four to six weeks after the deadline if they have been selected for an interview, but that time may vary depending upon departmental priorities.

If you are chosen for employment, you will be required to present proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Following any conditional offer of employment you will be required to undergo a drug test. For certain positions, you may also be required to undergo a pre-employment physical and/or psychological testing and assessment, a polygraph examination and civil service examination.
