Startup Lakewood Announces Winners Of The 2013 Ideation Challenge

Congratulations to the two winners of the 2013 Startup Lakewood Ideation Challenge:

1. Cleveland Craft Connection – Beth Gantz & Tara Tonsetic

2. The We(e) Market – Ahmie Yeung

This year’s Business Pitch Competition included business ideas ranging from an early alarm technology system, to a parenting retail store and cooperative, to a mobile app for local search by utilizing keywords to let you discover and document everything in your city. On the evening of August 27th University of Akron Lakewood was filled with energy as a panel of 5 judges analyzed the 2 minute pitches from 5 entrepreneurs. The judges tested the entrepreneurs with a series of questions, as well as providing constructive feedback. The two winners, Cleveland Craft Connection and The We(e) Market won a prize package that included a lunch meeting with the Mayor of Lakewood, a meeting with a local venture capitalist, a full scholarship to the Fall 2013 Bad Girl Ventures program at University of Akron Lakewood, and an advertising bundle from the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce.
